Jordan: Officially, the past rainy season was the weakest in about 50 years.

Arab Weather - Director of the Meteorology Department, Raed Rafid Al Khattab, stated that by referring to the last season 2023/2024 and comparing it with the current season 2024/2025, most regions of the Kingdom during the last season achieved their general seasonal rates in most regions of the Kingdom with the exception of the southern regions, while the current rainy season 2024/2025 is still weak and below its general rates until this date in all regions of the Kingdom. The following chart shows a comparison between the current season 2024/2025 and the last season 2023/2024 until May 18, 2025.

Al Khattab added that climate statistics from the Meteorology Department indicate that the current 2024/2025 rainy season is the weakest since the 1978/1979 season, and the general trend for rainy seasons indicates a decrease in the average seasonal rainfall in the Kingdom by about 0.6 mm per rainy season.
