Jordan: A second-degree (normal) low-pressure system is expected on Sunday, bringing renewed rainfall to several areas, followed by the extension of the Siberian high-pressure system.

Arab Weather App - Weather experts at Arab Weather said that the Kingdom will be affected, God willing, starting from the early morning hours of Sunday, January 18, 2026, by a new low-pressure system classified as second degree, which will cause renewed rainfall in many areas.

God willing, temperatures are expected to drop slightly on Sunday, with generally cold weather across the country. Rain is expected in the northern parts of the Kingdom, extending into the late morning hours to include the central parts, including the capital Amman, and reaching as far as the eastern parts. It is possible that the rain will be temporarily heavy in some areas, leading to water accumulation and flash floods.

During the afternoon, evening, and night hours of Sunday, the impact of the low-pressure system on the northern and central parts of the Kingdom will weaken, with the possibility of occasional showers remaining. At the same time, the chances of rainfall will gradually extend to include the governorates of Karak and Tafila, especially during the late night hours and dawn of Monday.

Rain chances will continue in several areas on Monday.

On Monday, temperatures will remain close to their usual averages for this time of year, and the weather will be relatively cold to generally cold with chances of rain showers in the north, center and east of the Kingdom, especially in the morning hours. Starting from noon, the chances of rain will gradually decrease, and the weather will stabilize in various regions by evening.

The Siberian high-pressure system will extend starting Monday night/Tuesday morning.

Furthermore, computer simulation results indicate that the Kingdom will be affected by the extension of the Siberian high-pressure system starting from the night hours of Monday/Tuesday, resulting in very cold weather at night, with temperatures dropping to near zero in the eastern and southern desert regions, while remaining between 2-5 degrees Celsius in the rest of the country.
