Saudi Arabia's Meteorology Department warns of a heat wave hitting the Eastern Province and Medina, with continuous thunderstorms expected in the south of the Kingdom.

Saudi Arabia is experiencing mixed weather conditions today, with a heat wave affecting parts of the Eastern Province and Medina, while thunderstorms continue to be possible in the southwestern highlands, according to a report from the National Center for Meteorology.

In contrast, surface winds are active over wide areas including the northern border regions, Al-Jawf, Tabuk, Makkah, and Riyadh, which may lead to dust and sandstorms and a decrease in horizontal visibility in some locations.

Unstable weather conditions will persist over the southwestern highlands, with continued chances of thunderstorms over Jazan, Asir and Al-Baha, with a possible extension of some showers to the southern parts of the Makkah region highlands.

Red Sea

Forecasts indicate that surface winds will be northwesterly to northerly over the northern and central parts at a speed of 20–45 km/h, while they will be northwesterly to westerly over the southern part at a speed of 10–32 km/h.

Wave heights range from one to two meters in the north and center, and from half a meter to one and a half meters in the south, with a sea state of moderate to light waves.

Arabian Gulf

In the Arabian Gulf, the winds will be westerly to northwesterly in the north and central regions, and northwesterly to southwesterly in the south, with speeds of 10–35 km/h.

Wave height ranges from half a meter to one and a half meters, with a light to moderate sea state.
