Meteorology: Weather warnings issued for 3 regions, including Riyadh

The National Center for Meteorology issued weather warnings for several regions, including Riyadh, the Eastern Province, and Makkah, warning of a strong heat wave that will raise temperatures to levels approaching 50 degrees Celsius, coinciding with active winds that will stir up dust and sand and a possible decrease in horizontal visibility.

These warnings will continue until 9:00 PM on Friday, June 12, 2026, with varying levels of warning between orange and yellow depending on the severity of the weather conditions in each region.

Eastern Region:

• Yellow alert "Heatwave 48 degrees": Khafji, Nairyah, Qaryat Al-Ulya, Al-Udayd, Dhabalutan, Al-Ahsa, Buqayq, Jubail, Khobar, Dammam, Qatif, Ras Tanura

The most prominent expected weather phenomena:

• occasionally strong winds
• Reduced or near-zero horizontal visibility
• heat wave
