Saudi Arabia announces the beginning of the month of Sha’ban on Tuesday. This is the date for the investigation of the crescent of Ramadan for the year 1444/2023

Weather of Arabia - Saudi Arabia announced that the sighting of the crescent of the month of Sha'ban has been confirmed at the Tamir Astronomical Observatory, and that tomorrow, Tuesday, is the beginning of the month of Sha'ban for the year 1444 AH, and therefore the investigation of the crescent of the month of Ramadan 1444-2023 will be after sunset on Tuesday 29 Sha'ban 1444 corresponding to March 21 2023 AD.

This is the text of the statement of the Crescent Chamber of the Supreme Court:

​The Crescents Department of the Supreme Court reviewed what it received from the courts about the sightings of the crescent of the month of Sha`ban for this year 1444 AH on the evening of Monday, the twenty-ninth of the month of Rajab for the year 1444 AH - according to the Umm Al-Qura calendar - corresponding to 2/20/2023 AD, and after the department reviewed what was received by it. In this regard, I issued Resolution No. (167 / AH) dated 8/1/1444 AH, which includes: Confirming the sighting of the crescent of the month of Sha’ban for this year 1444 AH on the evening of the aforementioned day; Accordingly, the New Moons Department in the Supreme Court decided: that Tuesday 8/1/1444 AH - according to the Umm Al-Qura calendar - corresponding to 2/21/2023 AD is the beginning of the month of Sha’ban for the year 1444 AH.
