الأمواج و الأمطار و الرياح الهوجاء ابتلعت فعلياً عدد من المدن و القرى الساحلية محولاً سُكانها إلى عداد القتلى.

 

و بناءً على البيانات الواردة من محطّات الرصد الجوي بالفيليبين فقد كانت سُرعة الرياح مُدمرة بكل ما تحمله الكلمة من معنى، حيثُ بلغت 314 كيلومتراً بالساعة.   الإعصار تسبب أيضاً في إطلاق أمواج عاتية بلغ مُعدل ارتفاعها ما بين 9-10 أمتار، و هو ارتفاع كان كافياً لابتلاع أجزاء كبيرة من الساحل الفيليبين ذو الارتفاع المنخفض.
