Arab Weather - The latest computer mapping data developed by the Arab Weather Center indicates that parts of the Levant, specifically western Syria and Lebanon, will be affected by a distant low pressure system centered over the Black Sea. This low pressure system will be accompanied by a cold air front crossing western Syria, including Latakia, Tartous, and neighboring areas, in addition to several regions in Lebanon.
According to the output of the weather models developed by Arabia Weather, rainfall amounts are expected to range between 30 and 50 mm, concentrated particularly over the Syrian coastal mountains. There is a possibility of flash floods, the flow of valleys and ravines, and the occurrence of water pools in some low-lying areas.
It also warns of the risk of reduced horizontal visibility due to heavy rain or fog on the highlands.
Forecasts indicate the first chance of snowfall this season on the summit of Mount Qornet el-Sawda in Lebanon, as the cold air mass accompanying the depression deepens during the second half of the week.
As for Jordan and Palestine, updates indicate the possibility of scattered showers in some northern and central regions during the dawn and daytime hours of Thursday, with a further drop in temperatures and a cool autumnal atmosphere prevailing, especially during the night and early morning hours.
And God knows best.
