موقع ArabiaWeather.com- التقط القمر الصناعي "Terra" صورة لسحب على شكل أمواج غريبة فوق المنطقة الجنوبية من المحيط الهندي، وذلك عندما هبت الرياح تجاه الشمال الشرقي فوق جزيرتين بركانيتين صغيرتين يُطلق عليها اسم الأمير إدوارد.

 

ونشرت وكالة ناسا في موقعها على الانترنت الصورة، والتي تمكنت من التقاطها باستخدام كاميرا خاصة بتصوير طيف الموجات (MODIS) في 5 نوفمبر/تشرين الثاني الجاري.

 

وأطلقت "ناسا" القمر الصناعي "تيرا" بتاريخ 18 ديسمبر/ كانون الأول عام 1999، وذلك بهدف جمع البيانات حول تغير مناخ الأرض ورصد الطقس والأمطار، إلى جانب المسح الجغرافي والجيولوجي لسطح الأرض.
