Arab Weather - As stated in several previous reports issued by global meteorological centers, including the US NOAA agency for oceans and atmosphere, the Earth is going through a climate cycle during this period and the coming months resulting from the development of the El Niño phenomenon, which is represented by the rise in water temperatures of the tropical part of the Pacific Ocean above their normal rates, which affects the air currents in the layers of the atmosphere far from the Earth’s surface, in addition to the distribution of atmospheric pressure systems in large areas of the world.

The effects of the El Niño phenomenon are reflected in the increased chances of the European continent being exposed to severe heat waves, which Europe has witnessed in recent days, with high temperatures recorded in several countries.

A new heat wave hits the European continent

Readings from maps and computer simulations at the Arab Weather Center still indicate the growth of more heat domes over the western Mediterranean region and southwestern Europe in particular, which will lead to more heat waves in the coming period.

Computer simulation outputs indicate that the European continent will be affected by a new heat wave, during which temperatures will rise to levels that may reach 40 degrees Celsius, and exceed that in some areas, particularly in Spain, France and parts of Portugal.

This heat wave will also extend to other parts of the continent, including Portugal, Germany, Italy and parts of Central Europe in the coming period, where the weather will be extremely hot for these areas, which are not used to receiving such high temperatures.
