For the second day in a row, Jordan recorded its highest electricity load in history, reaching 4,765 megawatts.

Arab Weather - The Jordanian National Electricity Company recorded a surge in electricity demand on Tuesday evening, reaching 4,765 megawatts at 7:38 PM, amid the heat wave sweeping the Kingdom.

This marks the "highest electrical load" in Jordan's history, and the company has increased its readiness to deal with the heat wave sweeping the kingdom.

The Director General of the National Electricity Company, Sufyan Batayneh, confirmed that the Kingdom has reached an unprecedented level of electricity demand, with peak loads reaching a record high of 4,700 megawatts on Monday, the highest in the Kingdom's history.

He emphasized that the success of the national electricity system depends on everyone's cooperation, and that every contribution to rationalizing consumption makes a real difference in stabilizing the grid and avoiding any power outages.

He pointed out that this situation requires everyone's cooperation in rationalizing electricity consumption, especially during peak hours, which extend from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, to ensure the continuity of electricity supply and maintain the stability of the national grid.

In a press statement released Tuesday, Al-Batayneh stressed that rationalizing consumption directly contributes to alleviating pressure on the electricity grid, ensuring the continued supply of electricity to hospitals, health centers, civil defense, and all vital facilities that rely primarily on electricity.

He called on citizens and relevant authorities to set air conditioners to 24 degrees Celsius, turn off unnecessary appliances and lights, postpone the operation of high-load appliances during off-peak hours, and postpone charging electric vehicles until times when the grid is less congested.
