Arab weather - the month of Safar is one of the Hijri months, and its arrangement is the second month in the Hijri calendar, which follows the month of Muharram, but why is the month of Safar called by this name?

The month of Safar was called by this name, because the homes of the Arabs were yellowing, meaning they were devoid of their people, because they went out in it to fight and search for food and travel to escape the summer heat.

Meteorologist Dr. Khaled Al-Zaqaq said that the first of the month of Safar was this year on Sunday (August 28), and he explained that it was named by this name, because the homes are whistling and devoid of its residents due to the search for living, either by invasion or by grazing, and from it he took the Arabic proverb “zero hands.” ; That is, "whatever has something to do with it."

Al-Zaqqaq added that the Arabs used to call it “Najr” because camels were dragged into it because of extreme thirst, and Al-Najr is a lot of drinking water without being irrigated, and the ancient Arabs were “pessimistic” about it because of seeing the behavior of some birds.

Al-Zaqqaq pointed out, in a video on his Twitter account, that the month of Safar for this year is an extension of the hot weather during the day, while the night breaks the intensity of heat, the atmosphere cools and the air and water cool down to the end of the night because it falls in the Suhail season.

He pointed out that at the beginning of the month of Safar, the migration of birds begins, and in the middle of it the intensity of the sun's rays is broken, and at the end of it, the length of the night is equal to the day.
