Arab Weather - The Arab Weather Center's weather forecasting team monitors the passage of an upper-level low pressure system (LBO) across Turkey's skies, which is considered late for this time of year. The low pressure system is accompanied by a relatively cold and humid air mass, as a cold and rainy air front crosses northern Turkey, leading to heavy rainfall in several areas, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms.
These weather disturbances are expected to continue on Monday, with a chance of rare snow showers over the northeastern mountain peaks of Turkey, a phenomenon considered unusual for this time of year. Temperatures are also expected to drop significantly during the night hours in these areas, approaching winter levels, with the possibility of falling to below 6 degrees Celsius on the mountain peaks, amid very cold conditions that are unusual for this time of year.
The effects of the weather system are reflected in the eastern Mediterranean in the form of brisk northwesterly winds with lower temperatures, leading to a drop in temperatures in Jordan, Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon, as well as northern and western Iraq. The effects of this air mass are expected to gradually reach southern Iraq and Kuwait by the beginning of July, contributing to a decrease in the intensity of the extreme heat compared to previous days.
These winds are also expected to stir up dust waves in the desert regions of the Levant and central Iraq, passing through the interior regions of Kuwait and eastern Saudi Arabia. This could lead to a decrease in horizontal visibility at times, especially during the afternoon and evening hours.
And God knows best.
