Arab Weather - Dr. Ahmed Al-Shuraidah, a researcher in the field of environmental protection and nature conservation, said that summer in Arab folklore is divided into two main parts, known as the Summer Square and the Summer Five. This division reflects the stages of climate change during the season and is traditionally used to monitor weather conditions and determine harvest dates and agricultural activities.
According to Al-Shuraidah, the summer forty-day period is known as the hottest period of summer, extending for 40 days, from June 21 to the end of July.
The summer forty-day period begins with the rise of the Pleiades, and includes three consecutive astronomical periods:

This period is characterized by hot and dry weather in most parts of the Arab world, with temperatures recording their highest annual averages. Hot air masses coming from the Sahara Desert and the Arabian Peninsula intensify the heat during this phase.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Shuraidah said that this phase lasts approximately 50 calendar days, beginning on August 1 and ending on September 21, although its actual duration can reach 53 days. The summer quintuplet is divided into four periods known as "saudat," which are:
Saad Al-Yabas (August 1-13): On this day, crops begin to dry up, and harvesting work ends.
Saad Al-Shoub (August 14-27): This period is known as the peak of summer heat, when the weather becomes noticeably hot.
Saad Al-Lahhab (August 28 - September 9): High temperatures continue during this period, and it usually coincides with a popular occasion known as “Walnut Day.”
Saad Al-Khabayya (September 10-21): The weather begins to moderate, and some signs of autumn begin to appear, such as the falling of leaves from trees and the appearance of dew in the early morning hours.
Al-Shuraidah pointed out that summer is also associated with certain agricultural phenomena and occasions, such as the Feast of the Transfiguration, which falls on August 6th. It is said about this season, "The Feast of the Transfiguration says to summer and to me," referring to the gradual decline in summer temperatures. Summer is also known for its ripening seasons for important crops such as figs, grapes, pomegranates, and prickly pears. Harvesting activities are common during this season, a symbol of goodness and blessings.
As for the weather forecast for the scorching month of August and the summer solstice, the Arab Weather Center has officially released its seasonal weather forecast, which is now available through the Arab Weather app. The forecast includes an overview of the weather forecast for the coming months.
And God knows best.
