Saudi Arabia's Meteorology Department warns: Severe heat wave to hit the Kingdom, temperatures to reach 50 degrees Celsius until June 25

The National Center for Meteorology in Saudi Arabia warned of continued hot to very hot weather in a number of regions of the Kingdom during the period from Saturday, June 20 to Thursday, June 25, 2026.

The center explained that maximum temperatures in parts of the eastern region will range between 47 and 50 degrees Celsius throughout this period, in a heat wave considered one of the most severe heat waves the region has witnessed.

The center also predicted that temperatures would range between 45 and 47 degrees Celsius in the Riyadh, Qassim and Madinah regions, in addition to the eastern parts of the Northern Borders region, during the period from Sunday, June 21 to Wednesday, June 24.

The center warned against direct exposure to sunlight during peak hours, calling for adherence to preventive guidelines to avoid heat stress.
