Amman Municipality declares a medium state of emergency to deal with the low pressure system

Arab Weather - The Greater Amman Municipality declared a state of medium emergency due to heavy rains, starting Sunday evening, to deal with the expected air depression.

The media spokesman for the Amman Municipality, Nasser Al-Rahamneh, confirmed the readiness of the municipality’s field cadres to deal with any reports received by the main emergency room in Tlaa Al-Ali, calling on citizens, in the event of any observation, to call the unified call center numbers (102 and 117180).

The Greater Amman Municipality called for taking precautions and staying away from valleys and low-lying areas, not connecting house gutters (roofs) to sewer manholes to avoid flooding the roads, and not throwing waste randomly as it causes the closure of rainwater drainage lines.

She stressed the need to inspect submersible pumps on floors and shops located below street level, and for merchants to take preventive precautions when storing goods in warehouses and basements.

The Greater Amman Municipality calls on contractors and construction project owners to take the initiative to secure building materials to avoid their erosion and direct blockage of rainwater drainage lines.

According to the latest weather maps outputs in "Arab Weather", the low pressure system located south of Turkey has begun to gradually move southeastward to gradually approach the Kingdom, and its accompanying effects are increasing in an ascending manner starting from the late hours of this night, Sunday/Monday, as it is expected, God willing, that the weather tonight will turn to become changeable between partly cloudy and cloudy, and the opportunity for rain is gradually preparing in parts of the north and center of the Kingdom.

Temperatures will drop on Monday, and the weather will be cold and mostly cloudy in all regions. Rain is expected, God willing, at intervals in the north of the Kingdom, increasing in intensity over time, while the chances of some intermittent rain showers, God willing, will be weaker in some parts of the central part of the Kingdom.
