Jordan | Water cuts in Tafileh, and many farms in the Jordan Valley were damaged due to the freezing

Weather of Arabia - The delegate of the Arab Weather in Tafila, "Mohamed Al-Sabayla", reported that the governorate was affected by a severe frost wave, which caused the water to be cut off from homes due to freezing, while the air-conditioning devices were disrupted due to the frost.

For his part, the head of the Jordan Valley Farmers Union, Adnan Khaddam, confirmed that several complaints were received from farmers to the union that their crops were damaged by the frost wave, while the agricultural teams moved to inspect all areas of the Jordan Valley, and start counting the farmers' losses.

Khaddam told the "My Country This Morning" program on Tuesday, that the Minister of Agriculture, Khaled Al-Hanaifat, contacted him and reassured him that he would follow up on the farmers' conditions, find out the extent of the damage and losses incurred by the farmers, and work to compensate them later through the agricultural risk fund designated for such circumstances.

Khaddam indicated that the frost wave hit crops in the northern, central and southern Jordan Valley regions, and the most affected crops, according to farmers' complaints, are "zucchini, tomatoes and potatoes."
