In a statement, the ministry and the authority confirmed that rationalizing consumption during peak times is a preventative measure that enhances the stability of the electricity grid and helps avoid any technical measures that may affect the availability of the service. The statement read as follows:

We have reached an unprecedented level of loads (4,700 megawatts), the highest in the Kingdom’s history. It is our duty to all contribute to rationalizing consumption during peak periods to ensure continuity of supply.

Your rationalization today reduces pressure on the grid and maintains the electricity supply to hospitals, health centers, civil defense, and vital facilities.

It's now approaching peak hours, between 5 and 9 p.m. Please postpone the operation of high-load appliances and turn off unnecessary lights. Every contribution makes a difference and can help avoid outages.
