Arab Weather - Several countries around the world have been affected recently by severe cold waves, resulting from the influx of very cold air masses of polar origin, which caused a significant and noticeable drop in temperatures in wide areas. A large part of these cold waves was characterized by dryness, as most of the very cold air masses crossed continental paths far from water bodies, which led to their lack of moisture, and thus caused sharp drops in temperatures, with frost and freezing spreading in wide areas, without being accompanied by precipitation.

In contrast, another part of these cold waves crossed maritime routes, allowing them to feed on moisture, which led to the development of wet winter weather conditions represented by snowfall and snowstorms, as we have recently witnessed in parts of Turkey and Russia.

According to the outputs of advanced computer technologies in Arab Weather, it is expected, God willing, that the Kingdom will join the global scene affected by cold waves, but its impact will be of the dry type and not the humid type, starting from the evening hours of Monday and Tuesday, and during the days of Tuesday and Wednesday.

A significant and noticeable drop in temperatures is expected, reaching very low levels at night, with bitterly cold weather during the night and early morning hours, and an increased chance of frost and freezing, especially in the eastern plains and desert regions, with sub-zero temperatures recorded in those areas.

Recommendations:

• Wear warm clothes and use heating appliances safely.
• Protecting crops and livestock, especially in desert and plains areas, where temperatures may drop below zero degrees Celsius at night.
• Covering water pipes in the eastern desert and plains areas.
• Be aware of the risk of frost formation in many areas or freezing in parts of the plains and desert during the night and early morning hours.
