Jordanian Health | 891 new cases of Coronavirus and 13 deaths!

Arab Weather - The Minister of Health, Dr. Saad Jaber, announced through a press briefing held today on the developments of the epidemiological situation and the governmental measures to deal with it that 891 new cases of Coronavirus have been recorded, 889 of which are local infections

The casualties were distributed as follows:

• 4 cases in Mafraq governorate
• 606 in Amman Governorate
• 1 in the Aqaba governorate
• 18 in the governorate of Madaba
• 19 in Tafila governorate
• 5 in Ma'an governorate
• 24 in Irbid Governorate
• 130 in Zarqa Governorate
• 4 in Ajloun governorate
• 46 in Al Balqa governorate
• 19 in the governorate of Karak
• 13 in Jerash Governorate
• It also recorded 13 new deaths from the Corona virus

The Minister of State for Media Affairs stated the following:

• Yesterday, with great pride, we received a letter from His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein - may God protect him - and his high order to accept the resignation of Dr. Omar Razzaz’s government, as a constitutional entitlement, and to instruct it to continue conducting business until the prime minister is chosen and the new government is formed.
• We affirm here that the resignation of the government is a constitutional commitment that embodies the lofty democratic principles that the Jordanian state, under its wise Hashemite leadership, has consistently pursued since its inception, and that it is the consolidation of the democratic process that we are proceeding with consistency and determination, despite all the challenges we face.
• Based on the royal directive, the government will continue to work, and until the formation of a new government, with vigor, determination and perseverance, to deal with the Corona epidemic, which requires focused and continuous work, and to continue taking measures and procedures regarding it without delay, in accordance with the constitutional and legal powers available to us.
• The government, as it is charged with conducting business, will not expand during this period by taking decisions and procedures and will abide by the provisions of the Constitution and the legislation in force, and therefore our decisions and procedures will be limited to the necessary matters, conducting routine business, maintaining the work of institutions, and providing regular services to citizens
• In line with this, the Council of Ministers held a session today headed by the Prime Minister of the government in charge of conducting business, Dr. Omar Al-Razaz, during which he discussed a number of topics on his agenda, and the necessary steps that could be taken during the current period, especially with regard to dealing with the Corona pandemic
• We affirm here that we will never hesitate to take the necessary measures and decisions to deal with the Corona pandemic, that will preserve the health and safety of citizens, and maintain the permanence of the work of various sectors, and in the same spirituality, partnership and coordination between the civil and military agencies of the state, since the Corona crisis began.
• We affirm that the Jordanian health sector, which has presented a distinguished model during the past years and decades, is able to deal with this crisis with the efficiency and sincerity of its workers, and to invest all available capabilities, with the cooperation of all Jordanians.
• Today we hold this press briefing to talk about our medical capabilities and the facts about the extent to which our civilian and military hospitals and health centers are able to absorb the continuous increase in the number of people infected with Coronavirus, in light of the talk about the extent of our health system's ability to absorb the steady increase in the number of infections
