Iraq | Warning of a strong and wide wave of frost and freezing that includes agricultural areas on Saturday/Sunday night

Arab Weather - Night temperatures drop on Saturday/Sunday night additionally compared to the previous nights, approaching zero centigrade in large areas of the country and below zero centigrade in the western and northern regions, and the weather will be very cold in the mountainous heights, and very cold in the rest of the regions.

With high humidity and fog forming in different areas, it is not excluded that the fog will be thick sometimes, especially in the west.

A strong wave of frost and freezing will occur in large areas of the country, including the capital, Baghdad, and include agricultural areas. Snow forms on wet roads, especially in areas that witnessed snowfall.

The wind is variable direction, light to moderate speed.

In light of the expected weather conditions, the Arab Weather Center advises the necessity of:

• Attention to the danger of frost, freezing and ice forming, which poses a danger to driving on the roads and to livestock crops, so it is advised to take the necessary measures
• Reducing and not driving on roads that witness the formation of snow
• The safe use of heating devices and heavy clothing, especially for the elderly and children.
• Cover exposed pipes and put antifreeze in vehicles.
