Weather update | Dusty conditions now and in the coming hours, followed by a low-pressure system and rain this afternoon and evening

Arab Weather - The latest satellite images available through the Arab Weather app show that large areas of the Kingdom are affected by dusty conditions at this time, and these conditions are expected to continue during the coming hours, which calls for respiratory and eye patients to take the utmost precautions.

A second-degree low-pressure system will begin affecting the Kingdom this afternoon and evening.

The same images also show the presence of large amounts of rain clouds in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Palestine, which are associated with a second-degree low-pressure system according to the Arab Weather scale for the intensity of low-pressure systems. It is expected to move gradually towards the region during the afternoon and evening hours, so that the amounts of clouds increase and the chances of rainfall increase, God willing, in the north and center of the Kingdom, later including parts of the Karak and Tafila governorates. The rain may be heavy at times, accompanied by lightning and thunder, with the possibility of local hail showers, which may lead to the formation of water accumulations on some roads.

Active winds and dusty conditions, especially on desert roads.

The Kingdom is experiencing active southwesterly winds with occasional strong gusts, some of which reach speeds of more than 80 km/h in the southern mountain peaks. The winds are expected to stir up dust and sand, especially in the desert regions and eastern plains.

During the night hours of Wednesday/Thursday, the weather will be cold and partly cloudy to occasionally cloudy, with rain expected, God willing, in the north and center of the Kingdom and parts of Karak and Tafila. The rain will be accompanied by thunder and hail showers in parts of the north and center of the Kingdom during the early evening hours.

The weather will be cold and partly cloudy to occasionally cloudy, with the possibility of scattered showers of rain, God willing, in parts of the north and center of the Kingdom. The weather will tend to stabilize during the evening hours.

Recommendations during the low-pressure system:

• Be aware of sandstorms from midday until the early evening hours on many desert roads and eastern plains, with the risk of zero horizontal visibility, especially during the afternoon hours.
• Wear warm clothes.
• Drive carefully and leave a safe distance when it starts to rain.
• Warning of flash floods during the early evening hours, especially in parts of the north and center of the Kingdom.
