In less than 24 hours | 9 deaths from two families in two separate incidents of suffocation from heating gas in Al-Hashimiyah - Zarqa

The media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate said that the ambulance teams in the Zarqa Civil Defense Directorate dealt today with the death of five people from one family as a result of their suffering from shortness of breath due to a gas leak from a heater in the Al-Hashimiyah area of Zarqa Governorate.

The media spokesperson stated that the deceased were a mother and her children, aged between 11 and 14 years, of Arab nationality. The ambulance teams in the Zarqa Civil Defense Directorate worked to evacuate the deceased to Zarqa Governmental Hospital.

The Public Security Directorate reiterated its emphasis on the need for the safe and proper use of heating appliances, checking the gas hoses connecting the cylinder to the heater body regularly, replacing the leakage preventer with each cylinder replacement, ventilating the house from time to time, and not leaving the heater on while sleeping, calling on everyone to follow these steps and not underestimate them.

In another incident, the Public Security Directorate announced yesterday evening the death of four people from one family as a result of respiratory distress caused by a gas leak from a heater in the Al-Hashimiyah area of Zarqa Governorate.

The ambulance teams in the Zarqa Civil Defense Directorate worked to evacuate the deceased to Zarqa Governmental Hospital.
