يحدث هذا النوع من الضباب عندما يجبر الهواء على الصعود لأعلى تلة او جبل , وعندما يصعد الهواء للاعلى يبرد , وعندما يبرد وتصل درجة حرارته الى درجة الندى يحدث التكاثف , ومن ثم يتشكل الضباب .
هذا النوع من الضباب عندما يتشكل يغطي مساحة واسعة , ويمكن ان يبقى بضعة اميال , وخاصة مناطق سلاسل الجبال .
