A severe sandstorm is affecting Egypt. Will it reach Jordan as the Khamaseen depression approaches?

Arab Weather - The latest satellite images from the Arab Weather Regional Center indicate that Egypt is currently being affected by severe sandstorms as a result of strong winds accompanying a Khamaseen depression affecting the region. Meteorological stations have observed horizontal visibility in some parts of Egypt declining to around 300 meters.

Dust and suspended particles are expected to increase in the atmosphere over the coming hours due to the approach of the Khamaseen depression, leading to reduced horizontal visibility, including in areas of the capital, Amman.

With increasing levels of dust in the atmosphere, people with respiratory, eye, and allergy conditions are advised to take precautions to avoid complications. Some tips to follow during increased dust levels in the atmosphere include:

Cover your nose and face well, especially for those with respiratory and eye problems.

Wash your face and nose well with water to avoid contamination by dust.

Avoid walking and direct exposure to dust.

Do not touch your eyes and nose with your hands and wash them well with water.

A dust wave is expected to sweep towards the Kingdom during the evening and night hours.

During the evening and night hours of Wednesday/Thursday, the weather will be much warmer than usual, and a denser dust wave is expected. The atmosphere will become dusty over time, with the dust density increasing significantly in the late afternoon and throughout the night. There is also a possibility of mud showers during the dawn hours, God willing.
