Arab Weather - The latest weather analyses indicate that a number of Arab countries will be affected tomorrow, Tuesday, by widespread activity of active northwesterly winds known locally as "Al-Bawarih" winds. These winds will originate from southern Iraq and head towards Kuwait, then the eastern parts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, followed by Qatar, the UAE, and the western Emirates.

Heavy dust in southern Iraq and Kuwait on Tuesday

Meteorologists expect the dust to be most intense in southern Iraq, followed by Kuwait. These regions are expected to experience moderate to heavy dust storms, accompanied by reduced or even zero visibility on some highways.

Dust hits eastern Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, and western UAE

The eastern parts of Saudi Arabia will not be immune to the active winds and dusty conditions, as most coastal areas are expected to experience general dusty conditions due to locally stirred dust and dust carried towards the region from Kuwait and Iraq. Qatar, Bahrain, and the western parts of the UAE are expected to be affected by locally stirred dust, which will be denser in the western Emirates.

Large differences in atmospheric pressure values renew the activity of the Buwarih winds.

For its part, the Arab Weather forecasting team reported that the reason for the active Al-Bawarih winds is the control of a surface high over the northern Arabian Peninsula, coinciding with the deepening of the Indian monsoon low from the south. This creates a significant difference in atmospheric pressure, which drives active, dry, dust-raising northeasterly winds that reduce horizontal visibility over wide areas.

Arab Weather warns of:

• It is preferable to wear medical masks when going out to prevent inhaling fine dust.
• It is necessary to close windows tightly inside homes and buildings to maintain indoor air quality.
