Will the Makkah region experience weather fluctuations and rain coinciding with the Day of Tarwiyah?
Arab Weather - The National Center of Meteorology in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia issued a warning today, Wednesday, of the possibility of thunderstorms and rain over parts of the highlands of the Jazan, Asir, and Al-Baha regions. Their effects may extend to parts of the highlands of the Makkah region, coinciding with the start of Hajj rituals and the arrival of pilgrims to Mina to spend the Day of Tarwiyah.
These weather fluctuations come amid extremely hot conditions prevailing in most regions of the Kingdom, including the holy sites in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, where temperatures can reach highs exceeding 40 degrees Celsius during daylight hours. This increases the level of heat stress for pilgrims, especially during their travels and performing rituals under the sun.
The Meteorology Department has urged pilgrims and relevant authorities to exercise extreme caution and follow instructions issued by civil defense, health, and security authorities, ensure adequate water supplies, and avoid direct exposure to the sun during peak hours.
