Arab Weather - Sinan Khalaf - Many people may not know that there are animals that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us to kill wherever they are found, even in the sacred precincts of Mecca, where hunting is forbidden . The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned these five animals in his hadith : “Five harmful creatures may be killed in the sanctuary: the mouse, the scorpion, the kite, the crow, and the rabid dog.” Below is a brief overview of these animals.

• The mouse:

Mice are small mammals belonging to the rodent family. They are characterized by their small, rounded ears and long, almost hairless tails. One of the most common types of mice is the common mouse, known for invading homes in search of food and sometimes shelter.

• the scorpion :

It is a predatory arthropod with eight legs and a segmented tail, ranging in size from 9 mm to 20 cm. All scorpion species are known to possess venom, which is fast-acting and primarily used to kill or paralyze their prey. They also use it as a means of defense against predators. There are approximately 1000 known species of scorpions, of which only 25 have venom that is fatal to humans.

• The kite:

The kite is a bird of prey that lives in warm, rural areas near water sources. It has strong eyesight and feeds on mice, pigeons, birds, and other small animals.

• The crow:

The crow has black feathers and large beaks. It is a genus of birds belonging to the Corvidae family. It is a well-known bird in many parts of the world, and its types, forms, and species are numerous.

- The rabid dog:

This includes everything that bites and frightens humans, such as lions, tigers, leopards, and wolves.
