Arab Weather - Medium-range computer simulation maps are showing increasing indications that several Arab countries are entering a period of extreme heat, the features of which will begin to appear starting next week, specifically in the middle of this month, and will continue for several consecutive days, with expectations that large parts of the Arab world will be affected by a scorching heat wave.

Initial indications received by the Arab Weather Center suggest that this heat wave may lead to temperatures rising to very high levels, perhaps even record highs in some areas, with the possibility of exceeding the 50-degree Celsius mark in some places, according to current data.

Although these expectations are still within the medium term and subject to change, the stability of the indicators on the outputs of numerical models requires close monitoring, due to the wide-ranging effects they may have if they continue in the coming days.

A heat wave is expected to affect 8 Arab countries by mid-month.

According to current indicators, the anticipated heat wave is expected to include Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman, Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco, with the highest temperatures concentrated in the Gulf countries and Iraq, coinciding with the extension of the effects of high heat to the Maghreb countries.

Temperatures may exceed 50 degrees Celsius in some areas.

According to the outputs of medium-range computer models, temperatures are expected to reach or exceed 50 degrees Celsius in parts of the aforementioned Arab countries, particularly southern Iraq, Kuwait, some desert and inland areas, the eastern parts of Saudi Arabia, and the inland and desert areas of the UAE and Oman.

Initial indicators also point to extremely hot weather in parts of Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco, with the possibility of very high temperatures being recorded on some days, according to current data which is still subject to change as the time period approaches.
