Arab Weather - The latest outputs of computer simulation models in Arab Weather indicate that the United States of America will be affected in the coming days by a severe polar wave, resulting from the rush and accumulation of huge quantities of extremely cold polar air, leading to a sharp and significant drop in temperatures in large areas of the country, especially in the northern regions, reaching nearly 50 degrees Celsius below zero.
According to forecasts, temperatures are expected to drop to record lows of between 40 and 50 degrees Celsius below zero in the northern states, including large parts of the northern United States, as far as Alaska and Canada, while temperatures will be relatively higher in the rest of the regions, but will remain very low, ranging between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius below zero.
These conditions are expected to cause widespread freezing, including on bodies of water and ponds, and the formation of ice on roads, in addition to potential damage to plants and aspects of public life, especially in northern regions. It is also possible that these polar air masses, as they pass over bodies of water and large lakes, will gain some moisture, which will produce snowfall in a number of states due to what is known as the lake effect, although the general character of the air masses remains continental and dry.
The most prominent feature of this weather condition is the extreme cold and the significant drop in temperatures to very low levels, which calls for attention and taking the necessary precautions.
And God knows best.
