Arab Weather App - The latest maps received from what is called computer simulation indicate the rush of a very cold air mass of polar origins to the southwest of the European continent, specifically affecting France, Spain and Germany. The weather will be bitterly cold in the coming days, with temperatures below zero degrees Celsius and snowfall expected, God willing. The effects of this weather system will extend to northwest Africa, especially Algeria and Tunisia.
In detail, Algeria and Tunisia will be affected from Thursday, November 20, 2025 until Sunday, November 23, 2025 by a low-pressure system accompanied by a very cold air mass of polar origin. Therefore, temperatures will drop significantly, especially in the northern states, becoming colder than usual. The weather will be cold during the day and very cold at night, with temperatures dropping to around or below zero degrees Celsius over the high mountains, especially in northern Algeria.
The weather will be unsettled, God willing, ranging from partly cloudy to cloudy, with rain falling in large areas of northern Algeria and northern Tunisia, extending to some central and southern regions of Algeria. This rain will be heavy, God willing, accompanied by hail and possibly thunderstorms, especially in coastal areas.
Mountain valleys and low-lying areas are prone to the sudden formation of torrential floods, in addition to the increased risk of flooding in several areas due to the large amounts of rain expected in some regions.
This low-pressure system will be accompanied by brisk winds on Thursday, becoming strong on Friday and Saturday along the northern coasts of Algeria and Tunisia, as well as over the Mediterranean Sea. These winds will be accompanied by gusts reaching up to 100 km/h, which will cause significant sea waves to rise to approximately 4-5 meters. Therefore, it is advised to avoid the coast during this period. The strong winds will also stir up dust storms in the northern part of the Algerian Sahara.
God willing, the high mountain peaks in northern Algeria are expected to receive the first snowfall of the season starting on Friday, with snowfall continuing on Saturday. The snowfall will include high mountain peaks that are more than 1700 meters above sea level, and the peak period will descend on Friday evening and night/Saturday to a lower altitude, especially on peaks that are more than 1400 meters high. The accumulation increases with the altitude of the region above sea level and the intensity of the clouds at that time, while the high peaks receive large amounts of snow that will hinder aspects of public life.
As a reaction to what is happening in North Africa and southwestern Europe, a warmer-than-usual air mass is pushing towards the Levant and Egypt, resulting in a noticeable rise in temperatures at the end of the week, while the weather remains stable in various regions.
And God knows best.
