Arab Weather - The European continent, especially its western regions, continues to be exposed to repeated heat waves since the beginning of summer, amid an unprecedented rise in temperatures that exceeded 40 degrees Celsius in some areas of Spain and Portugal, while France and some areas in central and southern Europe recorded unusually high temperatures in the thirties, in light of the control of a strong and stubborn high pressure system that pushed from African lands towards the region.
However, weather forecasts are beginning to indicate that parts of Western Europe will be affected by a stormy, rainy low pressure system with some winter characteristics. Starting next Sunday, a cold air mass is expected to sweep from the North Atlantic towards Western Europe, resulting in the formation of a stormy, rainy low pressure system with low air pressure values reaching 995 hectopascals in the center of the low pressure system.
As a result, temperatures are expected to drop significantly across several parts of Western Europe, with the weather turning cloudy and stormy, with intermittent rainfall, sometimes heavy and accompanied by thunder.
The low pressure system is expected to affect several countries in Western and Central Europe. It is expected to begin affecting Britain, France, and Germany on Sunday, and then extend its effects to parts of Central and Southern Europe, creating a state of atmospheric instability accompanied by heavy to very heavy rainfall.
Weather forecasters at Arab Weather said that the cold air mass accompanying the low pressure system will have a significant impact on the significant drop in temperatures, as maximum temperatures in Spain are expected to drop to 30 degrees Celsius after exceeding the mid-thirties today, Friday, while temperatures will drop by a difference that may exceed 10 degrees Celsius in some French cities, with a maximum temperature expected in the capital, Paris, next Sunday, of 25 degrees Celsius, after exceeding the thirty-six in the past days.
The low-pressure system is also expected to bring strong winds and strong gusts, which will exacerbate the chill felt in European cities since the beginning of the summer. Heavy rains are also expected to accompany the low-pressure system, increasing the risk of flooding in some areas.
On Monday, the effects of the low-pressure system are expected to extend to parts of Germany, northern Italy, Austria, the Czech Republic, and parts of Poland. Unstable weather conditions are expected as the cold air mass accompanying the low-pressure system collides with the warm air mass in central and southern Europe. This increases the risk of strong thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in these areas, and serious warnings are issued regarding flash floods due to the expected heavy rains.
