Al-Hussaini sets dates for rain and severe cold in Saudi Arabia

Weather and climate researcher and member of the committee for naming distinctive climate conditions, Abdulaziz Al-Hussaini, revealed the dates of the most prominent climate seasons in the Kingdom during the upcoming Hijri year.

Al-Hussaini explained that the Wasm season, known as one of the best periods of rainfall in Saudi Arabia, will begin on Thursday, Rabi' al-Thani 24, 1447 AH, which means renewed rainfall is expected across various regions.

The start of the winter season will be on Sunday, Jumada al-Akhirah 16, 1447 AH. The Kingdom typically experiences a significant drop in temperatures, with cold weather that requires preparation for winter.

Al-Hussaini added that the Shabat season will fall on Thursday, Rajab 26, 1447 AH, noting the possibility of frost formation if it coincides with a polar or Siberian air, which would significantly increase the cold weather.
