Arab Weather - Mohammed Al-Shaker, the CEO of Arab Weather, said that the delay in rainfall that the Kingdom is experiencing during the current period is not climatically unusual, but rather has been repeated in many past seasons.

Al-Shaker explained that climate records in Jordan show that cases of weak rainfall at the beginning of seasons are not new to the Kingdom’s climate, as Jordan’s climate is by nature volatile due to its location in a transitional zone between the desert climate and the Mediterranean climate, which makes it susceptible to significant fluctuations in rainfall amounts from year to year.

Al-Shaker added that climate data issued by the Jordanian Meteorological Department indicates that about 50 out of 100 rainy seasons started weakly, during which the Kingdom suffered from delayed or weak rainfall in the fall.

But what is remarkable, according to Al-Shaker, is that 65% of these seasons, which is approximately 33 rainy seasons, witnessed a clear improvement in rainfall performance during the second half of the season, and ended either around or above the general averages.

Al-Shaker concluded his remarks by emphasizing that these data are a positive and promising indicator of improved weather conditions in the coming weeks, God willing.
