Arab Weather - Maps specializing in air mass movements indicate the rush of a very cold air mass of polar origins towards the eastern region of the European continent, so that it will be positioned over Turkish lands at the beginning of next week. The effects of this very cold and dry air mass will extend towards the Levant and Iraq, leading to a rapid cold wave accompanied by noticeably low temperatures during the night and early morning hours.
God willing, the Kingdom is expected to be affected by this cold wave starting from the evening and night hours of Sunday/Monday, with a clear drop in temperatures to levels similar to those of the winter forty-day period, i.e. close to zero degrees Celsius in several areas of the high mountain peaks, the eastern plains and the desert, and the weather conditions will be conducive to the formation of frost.
God willing, the Kingdom is expected to continue to be affected by the cold wave during the day on Monday. The weather will be very cold at the beginning of the day, with low temperatures and frost formation. However, during the rest of the day, the weather will become relatively cold to cold, despite being sunny in various regions, before the atmosphere returns to extreme cold during the night hours, and the chances of frost formation will increase again as temperatures approach zero degrees Celsius again in some areas.
The Kingdom being affected by such a cold wave at this time of year is considered something that may be harmful to crops, as the soil temperature is expected to reach zero degrees Celsius and perhaps even lower in some areas, which may negatively affect crops that are planted at this time of year. Therefore, farmers are advised to take the necessary preventive measures to avoid damage to agricultural crops, God forbid, in light of the drop in temperatures to around zero degrees Celsius, especially near the surface of the earth.
The cold wave is not limited to Jordan and includes the Levant and Iraq.
The impact of this cold wave is not limited to Jordan alone, but its effects are expected to be more pronounced in Syria, Lebanon, and the western and northern parts of Iraq, and to a lesser extent in Palestine.
Forecasts indicate a significant drop in temperatures during the night hours in those areas, where they may reach or fall below zero degrees Celsius in some areas of the Syrian Desert and western Iraq, in addition to the high mountain peaks in Syria and Lebanon, with the possibility of frost forming during the night and early morning hours.
And God knows best.
