Arab world: Air mass conflict brings sharp weather fluctuations to several Arab countries next week

Arab Weather - Several Arab countries are experiencing unstable weather conditions this week, accompanied by thunderstorms of varying intensity and hail showers, especially in parts of the Arabian Peninsula, including Saudi Arabia, with the effects extending to Kuwait, the Levant, and Iraq, amid conditions that are susceptible to rapid change in the coming period.

This situation arises as a result of the intensification of temperature differences between the contrasting air masses during the transitional period of spring, as relatively colder air masses flow from the north, met by warmer air masses from the south, leading to the emergence of sharp and rapidly evolving weather patterns.

Heavy rain, hail, and strong downdrafts in the Gulf countries

Weather forecasts indicate that large parts of the Arabian Peninsula will continue to be affected by a state of atmospheric instability in the coming days, with deepening temperature differences between air masses, which will clearly enhance the development of cumulonimbus thunderclouds.

Moderate to heavy rain is expected, accompanied by lightning and thunder, and hail showers that may be heavy and accumulating at times, in addition to strong downbursts, which may be accompanied by a decrease in horizontal visibility and local dust storms.

These disturbances are also expected to extend to the State of Kuwait, with varying degrees of weather phenomena from one area to another.

Instability continues in the Levant and Iraq until Tuesday

As for the Levant, the unstable weather conditions are expected to continue until Tuesday in limited parts of Jordan and Palestine, while they will be more widespread and heavy in Syria, Lebanon and Iraq.

These precipitations may be accompanied by significant thunderstorm activity, with lightning and thunder, and the possibility of hail showers, especially in the eastern regions of Syria and Iraq, as a result of the strong updrafts within the cumulonimbus clouds.

Rainfall decreases in North Africa and activity increases in Sudan

In North Africa, the chances of rainfall are expected to decrease compared to last week in Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia, with the possibility of scattered rainfall remaining in some northern and central regions.

In contrast, parts of South Sudan are expected to be affected by significant cumulonimbus cloud activity, leading to rainfall of varying intensity, due to the availability of thermal and humidity instability factors in those areas.
