The new crescent remains visible for 31 minutes after sunset in Mecca and 38 minutes in Cairo. In Arab and Islamic capitals and cities, the new crescent remains visible after sunset that day for periods ranging between 8 and 48 minutes.

These astronomical calculations indicate that the beginning of the month of Dhul-Qi’dah of the year 1445 AH will be on Thursday, corresponding to 5/9/2024 AD.
