Australia Monday, March 31, 2025 is the first day of Eid al-Fitr

Arab Weather - The Australian Fatwa Council announced in a statement issued on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, that next Monday, March 31, 2025, will be the first day of Eid al-Fitr in Australia, according to astronomical data and the circumstances related to the sighting of the crescent moon of Shawwal 1446 AH.

The Australian Fatwa Council stated that after monitoring astronomical observatories and scientific academies specializing in crescent sighting in Australia and around the world, it has been confirmed by the Australian Fatwa Council that the crescent of Shawwal 1446 AH will be born on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 9:57 PM Sydney time, after sunset. In Perth, the crescent will be born on the same day at 6:57 PM, also after sunset. Therefore, the beginning of Shawwal cannot be on this day.

Accordingly, the Australian Fatwa Council stated that Ramadan will be a full 30 days, and that Sunday, March 30, 2025, will be the last day of the holy month.
