Civil Defense rescues a child from death after he was swept away by a flood in Karak Governorate and evacuates the body of his sister who was also swept away by the flood

The media spokesman for the Public Security Directorate said that a report was received by the operations room of the Karak Civil Defense Directorate about two siblings (a boy and a girl) being swept away by one of the torrents forming in the Safi area / Karak Governorate, where specialized civil defense teams moved immediately, supported by cadres from the Karak Police.

The media spokesman confirmed that the speed of arrival at the location and the professionalism and skill of the civil defense personnel and divers enabled them to save the child from death. He received first aid after being injured and was immediately taken to the hospital for further treatment.

The media spokesman added that the rescue and diving teams continued to comb the area in search of his sister, the girl (17) years old, where her body was found and pulled out from the flood and transferred to the forensic medicine.

The Public Security Directorate reiterates its emphasis on the necessity of staying away from floods and valleys in the presence of unstable weather conditions or depressions.
