Weather experts at Arab Weather are monitoring the latest outputs of numerical models available through the Arab Weather application, indicating that a number of Gulf countries will be affected by exceptional weather conditions. The region is expected to be increasingly affected by the influx of a very cold Siberian air mass, coinciding with the development of unstable weather conditions, including rain and snow falling on large parts of Saudi Arabia, in addition to Qatar, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates.
In detail, the Kingdom is expected to be increasingly affected tonight by a very cold air mass of Siberian origin, creating unstable weather conditions and rain falling on various parts of Hail, Qassim and the northern part of the Riyadh region, in the form of snow rain or snow showers in some places.
On Thursday, starting from the morning hours, a cold front is expected to cross the skies of Riyadh and the Eastern Province, leading to renewed cloud formation and moderate to heavy rainfall, accompanied by lightning, thunder, and hail. Temperatures will drop significantly, with the maximum temperature in the capital, Riyadh, reaching around 12 degrees Celsius.
God willing, unstable weather conditions will recur on Thursday, especially during the evening and night hours. A highly effective cold front will cross, God willing, as thunderclouds will multiply and heavy to very heavy showers of rain will fall in multiple areas. The rain will be accompanied by strong thunderstorms and lightning strikes. Hail may also fall heavily and in large sizes in some areas.
God willing, unstable weather conditions are expected on Thursday, with clouds increasing at different altitudes and the chance of thunderstorms and rain showers increasing over time in various parts of the country. These showers may be heavy at times, especially in the eastern and northeastern regions, and may be accompanied by hail showers.
Starting from the evening and night hours of Thursday/Friday, an air front will gradually cross the country, as cloud cover increases in the atmosphere, and thunderstorms become very active in the waters of the Arabian Gulf, moving quickly towards large areas of the Emirates, especially the northern ones. These thunderstorms will be accompanied by many weather phenomena, including heavy rain, strong thunderstorms, lightning, and possibly heavy and accumulating showers of hail, which may be large in size in some areas.
Winds also become very active during the passage of the cold front and thunderclouds, causing sea waves to become turbulent in the Arabian Gulf, whether near the northern coasts or in the deep sea. It is also possible that waterspouts will be active over the waters of the Arabian Gulf and near some of the country’s coasts during the passage of thunderstorms.
