Arab Weather - The latest outputs from the numerical models processed by the Arab Weather Center indicate that Iraq will be affected, starting Sunday and throughout the rest of next week, by an extremely hot air mass accompanied by a surface temperature depression. Consequently, temperatures will rise significantly, and the weather will be hot to extremely hot across all regions, coinciding with northwesterly winds that will stir up dust and dirt.
Maximum temperatures in the first half of the week are expected to be between the mid-to-late 30s Celsius in the western regions, while they will be between the early to mid-40s Celsius in the rest of the regions, including the capital, Baghdad.
Starting next week, northwesterly winds (locally known as "Bawareh" winds) will blow over central and southern Iraq. They will be moderate to brisk in speed and will be accompanied by strong gusts that will stir up dust and dirt, possibly forming dust waves. The weather will be dusty, especially in the central and southern parts of the country, and horizontal visibility will be significantly reduced.
God willing, nighttime temperatures are expected to rise significantly compared to previous nights over the coming days, especially at the beginning of the week. The weather will be relatively hot across many regions, particularly in the central and southern regions. However, the weather will moderate during the late night hours and dawn in some western regions.
And God knows best.
