Iraq: Heat wave breaks, temperatures expected to drop in the coming days

Arab Weather - After Iraq experienced extremely hot weather and scorching temperatures over the past few days due to the impact of a heat wave that hit the region, the latest weather forecasts indicate that the heat wave will break and slightly recede from Iraq's atmosphere starting tomorrow, Wednesday.

The latest weather maps from Arab Weather indicate that the heat wave will recede from the region starting tomorrow, Wednesday. The center of the upper high is expected to move slightly eastward, coinciding with the advance of an upper wave toward the eastern Mediterranean, which will work to break the heat, albeit slightly.

After large areas of Iraq recorded temperatures in the 50s over the past few days, including the capital, Baghdad, temperatures are expected to drop to around the mid-40s Celsius starting tomorrow, with the weather remaining hot across the country and extremely hot in the southeastern regions.

Arab Weather forecasters say Iraq is experiencing a hot summer so far. Since the beginning of the summer, an upper high pressure system has been centered over the northeastern Arabian Peninsula, trapping hot air above the region and creating a heat dome primarily responsible for heat waves around the world.
