Arab Weather App - God willing, the Kingdom will be gradually affected during the daytime hours of Saturday, December 6, 2025, by a state of atmospheric instability that will intensify and expand its impact during the evening and night hours. Its impact will be strong on Aqaba and the surrounding areas, in addition to Wadi Araba and various parts of the southern, eastern, and desert regions. Therefore, warnings are issued about the risks of the formation of sudden and torrential floods and the possibility of soil and rock erosion, especially in those areas.
In detail, the Kingdom will begin to be gradually affected on Saturday afternoon by a state of atmospheric instability, so amounts of clouds will appear at different altitudes, and there is a chance of rain showers in random areas of the Kingdom, especially in the south and east of the Kingdom. These showers can be heavy in some geographical areas and will lead to the formation of what is called flash floods.
According to the latest data via computer simulation within the Arab Weather application, it is expected that during the evening and night hours of Saturday/Sunday, the cold air will deepen in the upper layers of the atmosphere and meet with an extension of the Red Sea depression, so that the amounts of clouds will increase and showers of rain will fall on the southern regions, including the Gulf and city of Aqaba, Wadi Rum, the Disi Basin and the surrounding areas, the Shara Mountains, Wadi Musa, the southern Jordan Valley, Wadi Araba and the roads leading to it, and the southern desert regions, including the city of Ma’an and Al-Jafr, reaching the Al-Mudawwarah border area and the road leading to it.
These showers will be heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms, hail in some areas, and downdrafts, causing significant flow in valleys and streams and the formation of flash floods, including in the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea region. These thunderstorms will also be accompanied by strong gusts of wind, causing temporary dust storms in some desert areas, and high and turbulent waves in the Gulf of Aqaba.
As for the rest of the Kingdom, the effects of these unstable weather conditions extend and showers of rain fall in random areas, and it is not unlikely that some of these showers will be heavy in some narrow geographical areas and accompanied by thunder at that time.
And God knows best.
