Arab Weather - The latest readings of what is called computer simulation indicate that the Kingdom will be affected on Sunday, January 18, 2026, by a second-degree (normal) low-pressure system, with temperatures decreasing, God willing, with rainfall occurring at intervals starting from the north and extending to the center and parts of the south and east. The rain will be heavy at times, leading to the flow of valleys and the occurrence of water accumulations.

Relatively cold weather is expected on Saturday, January 17, 2026, with possible showers in parts of the north at night.

On Saturday morning, very cold weather will prevail in general, with the possibility of frost forming on some of the high mountain peaks and parts of the eastern plains and desert regions. During the rest of the day, temperatures will be around their average for this time of year, and the weather will be relatively cold to cold with the appearance of low clouds in the afternoon. The winds will be light and variable in direction.

During the night hours of Saturday/Sunday, the weather will be generally cold and very cold in the desert and plains areas. Low clouds will increase in the northern regions, which may cause scattered showers of rain. The winds will be light and variable in direction.

God willing, the Kingdom is expected to be affected by a second-degree (normal) low-pressure system, as temperatures will drop on Sunday and become lower than average for this time of year. The weather will be unsettled, ranging from partly cloudy to cloudy, with rain falling intermittently, starting from the northern regions and extending to the central and eastern regions. Later, during the afternoon and evening hours, parts of the southern regions will be affected. The rain will be heavy at times, especially in the north and center of the Kingdom, leading to the flow of valleys and streams and the formation of water pools. The winds will be westerly and moderate in speed, occasionally becoming active in the afternoon.

During the evening and night hours of Sunday/Monday, the weather will be generally cold and fluctuating between partly cloudy to cloudy, with intermittent rain in several regions of the Kingdom. Low clouds will pass through, touching the ground surface, causing dense fog to form in many mountainous areas and main roads, including the Irbid-Amman road, the road leading to Queen Alia International Airport, and parts of the desert road, causing a significant decrease in horizontal visibility that may reach zero. The winds will be moderate in speed and westerly in direction.

Monday, January 19, 2026: Cold weather and fog over the mountains and limited chances of rain precede the extension of the Siberian high pressure system at night.

Temperatures will remain below average for this time of year on Monday, with generally cold weather and dense fog forming in the morning hours over the high mountain peaks. There is a possibility of scattered showers, and the winds will be moderate in speed and westerly in direction.

During the night hours of Monday/Tuesday, the Kingdom will be affected by the extension of what is called the cold Siberian high pressure system, as the weather tends to stabilize and the amount of clouds decreases to become clear in most areas, and the minimum temperatures drop significantly to range between 2 and 4 degrees Celsius, while they will be around or below zero degrees Celsius in the desert and eastern plains areas.

Accordingly, frost is expected to form in large areas of the Kingdom, including agricultural areas inside and outside cities, with the exception of the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba regions.
