Arab Weather - The media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate said that search and rescue teams were formed in the southern region from the Tafilah and Petra police directorates, the Civil Defense, the Gendarmerie, and the Tourist Police to handle two reports of missing persons in the Tafilah governorates and the Petra district.

 

The media spokesman confirmed that the first report was received by the West Ma'an Police Directorate regarding floods surrounding a group of tourists in the Petra area, where 14 tourists were dealt with and evacuated without any notable injuries, while the search is still ongoing for two (a mother and her son) who are still missing.

 

He confirmed that rescue teams in Tafilah Governorate began searching for a child who was reported missing while herding sheep in the Hasa area near the torrents.

 

The Public Security Directorate reiterates its repeated warnings about the need to exercise caution and avoid walking near floodwaters and low-lying areas.
