Arab Weather - Arab Weather satellite images indicate a clear improvement in vegetation cover in many regions of the Kingdom during this period, compared to the same time last year, as the images show the green spaces extending better and wider this season.
The weakness of the vegetation cover during the past year is due to the Kingdom’s lack of exposure to weather depressions and rainy conditions, which led to a significant scarcity of rainfall, coinciding with the country’s exposure to periods of extreme cold and very low temperatures, which limited plant growth and weakened the vegetation cover in general.
In contrast, the current rainy season has witnessed a remarkable improvement, as the Kingdom has been affected since the fall by a number of rain events, followed by a succession of low-pressure systems during the Al-Murabba’aniyah period, which has contributed to strengthening the rain stock and improving the conditions suitable for plant growth.
These low-pressure systems were also interspersed with periods of stability and occasional rises in temperature, especially towards the end of the forty-day period and the beginning of the fifty-day period, which provided an ideal environment for the interaction of abundant rainfall with periods of warmth, which had a positive impact on plant growth and the revival of vegetation cover.
According to what satellite images show, the vegetation cover appears clearer and better in the northern and central regions of the Kingdom, with a lesser extension towards the southern regions, reflecting a better agricultural and environmental season compared to last year, thank God.
