Arab Weather - Sinan Khalaf - The latest weather updates issued by the Arab Weather Regional Center indicate that the western parts of the Kingdom will be affected in the coming days by a number of weather fluctuations and phenomena, most notably:
The western parts of the Kingdom are experiencing hotter weather, especially in the Makkah region and the holy sites, where temperatures are expected to reach 45 degrees Celsius today and may exceed that on Wednesday, amid generally scorching conditions.
The rising temperatures aren't limited to Mecca. Jeddah is expected to record highs approaching 40 degrees Celsius starting today, and could exceed that on Wednesday, reaching around 42 degrees Celsius. Temperatures in the capital, Riyadh, will also range between 42 and 43 degrees Celsius.
Arab Weather experts are monitoring the possibility of continued rainfall over the next two days in the mountainous areas of the southwest of the Kingdom, particularly in the highlands of Jazan and Asir. Cumulonimbus clouds are expected to return, bringing showers of rain accompanied by thunder and lightning, and possibly local hail.
Active northwesterly winds with cooler temperatures are expected across the northern part of the Kingdom, including the Al-Jawf, Northern Border, and Tabuk regions. These winds will stir up dust and sand of varying intensity, with the heaviest dust being in the border areas near Jordan, leading to reduced horizontal visibility.
And God knows best.
