Arab Weather - The latest outputs of computer simulations at the Arab Weather Center, which simulate weather patterns in the northern hemisphere, indicate the continued dominance of what is known as the "Omega pattern" during the coming days. This is one of the large-scale weather patterns that directly affect the distribution of air masses and the paths of low-pressure systems.
The Omega pattern is characterized by a strong upper-level high-pressure system positioned between two upper-level low-pressure systems. On weather maps, it resembles the Greek letter "Ω" (Omega), hence its name. This pattern leads to more stable weather systems than usual, resulting in consistent weather conditions for several days.
God willing, the continued dominance of the Omega pattern is expected to lead to the formation of a new and blazing heat dome over large parts of the European continent and North Africa, which will cause a new heat wave, especially in the southwestern regions of the European continent in the coming days, with temperatures rising to levels higher than their usual averages.
Conversely, this pattern causes noticeable ripples in the jet stream on either side of the convection dome, allowing cooler-than-usual air masses to descend towards the North Atlantic, where they contribute to the formation of low-pressure systems. These cooler-than-usual air masses, associated with the low-pressure area in the upper atmosphere, also descend towards central and eastern Europe, leading to lower summer temperatures and unstable weather conditions in several countries.
God willing, the Omega pattern is expected to have a positive impact on the Levant in the coming days, as it allows for cooler than usual sea air currents to flow across eastern Europe towards the region during the coming week.
This leads to the continuation of moderate to normal summer weather during the daytime hours, with active northwesterly winds and the appearance of low clouds, while the weather tends to be cold during the late night hours, especially over the highlands and plains areas.
There is also a chance of some rain clouds forming over parts of the Syrian and Lebanese coasts, and possibly extending to a limited extent to some coastal areas in Palestine and northern Egypt. This is unusual weather behavior for this time of summer.
And God knows best.
