The main reason for this decrease in the waters of the "Razzaza Lake" is the decrease in the level of the Euphrates River year after year, which is considered the main source of nourishment for the lake, whose area was estimated at about 1,800 square kilometers.
The significant decrease in the water level of "Lake Al-Razzaza" caused severe environmental damage, including the death of large numbers of fish and marine organisms, and the drying up of many farms that depended on the lake for irrigation.
